The Next 100 Years: An FBSC Community Conversation

As FSBC closes out its first 100 years, we look forward to our next century and to what we want to become. We are keenly aware of the club’s racist past, which denied membership to people of color well into the 1970s. At The Next 100 Years, we invite members to learn more about this history and to take steps toward a more inclusive future.

The event will take place in the FSBC ballroom as well as in small group discussions around the grounds. FSBC will provide beer, wine, soft drinks, water, and snacks.

Program

• Welcome & Introductions Deborah Arenstein, The Board Whisperers

• The History Of FSBC Bruce Gehle, Former President of FSBC Board

• FSBC in Context: The History of Exclusion Pools & Beaches Andrew Kahrl, UVA History Professor

• Small group discussions

• Envisioning the future

Registration

Registration is encourage but not required. We will also offer childcare to participants that register and let us know in advance. You can register here.
